Fish Hatchery Road Paving

Project Type: Field Construction
Client: Federal Highway Administration
Category: Road Construction & Excavation
Year Initiated / Completed: 2012 - 2012
Martin Brothers Construction was contracted by the Federal Highway Administration to construct road repairs to a 1.8 mile section of Fish Hatchery Road in Stanislaus National Forest. The project consisted of roadway rehabilitation through pulverization and asphalt pavement overlay as well as excavation for drainage improvements including culverts, cleaning of ditches and placement of rip rap. A project-specific traffic control plan was created by MBC and coordinated with the client.
Work included pulverization and placement of existing roadway material. New asphalt concrete overlay was then applied to the entire length of the project. Roadway shoulders were stabilized with sub-grade prep, followed by aggregate base and finally asphalt concrete. Culverts along the roadway were cleared and drainage was improved through excavation and placement of rip rap.
