Project Type: Site Work
Client: NAVFAC Southwest
Category: Concrete Replacement
Year Initiated / Completed: 2013 - 2013

Martin Brothers Construction, prime contractor  was awarded the $1.1M contract to replace several sections of deteriorated concrete hardstand outside Building 573 at the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Barstow, CA. This design-build project was managed and self-performed by our MBC crew. The customized phasing plan allowed our crews to work in the most efficient manner possible while minimizing impact to ongoing operations at the facility. Our managers were able to coordinate with NAVFAC Southwest and the end user to provide solutions that were to the advantage of all parties concerned. In fact, we added several small sections of concrete at no cost to the client after identifying small modifications that would improve working conditions for the end user.

Our crew completed our work ahead of schedule and zero punch list items were identified during final inspection. MBC is currently in negotiations with the client to return to Barstow for another similar sized project replacing several more sections of concrete.

Pride, Quality & Commitment to Excellence
